The reason why I ask is because one of Chevy dealers in the area has three left over '06 regular cab 1500 work trucks with no options, except for one: A/C delete! This is why he probably cannot sell them, as nobody wants a truck without A/C in Florida. The MSRP is $ 15k something. I am curious how low would they go on the truck and if it would be possible to buy an A/C kit from GM to install in the truck at a reasonable price. I kinda doubt it, because A/C is standard on all '06 Chevy trucks and A/C delete is an option on work trucks only.

If not a kit I have to wonder if the a/c delete is simply the removal of the compressor, evaporator, condensor, and associated hoses, brakets, etc. Could you park two trucks next to one another and se if the wiring is there for these items' sensors, etc. If so, I would find a fresh wreck and pull everything and you will probably have to buy a new condensor. $15,k still sounds high for these trucks, though. I would expect a full stripper to be $11,k based on what others have written.

True, but the idea was to buy one of these trucks really cheap. If I could get one for say $ 8k and I could buy an A/C kit for $ 800 and install it myself, then it might be worth it. Otherwise, no.
