2006 6.0L engine vs 2007 6.0L engine

Does anyone know what GM did to increase the horsepower on the 2007 6.0L engine? I have a 2006 GMC Sierra-Denali 6.0L rated at 345 horsepower and would be interested in knowing how to gain the extra horsepower. Thanks for any information provided.

Dealers dont sell tuners or tuned PCM's, and if they find out you have one bye-bye warranty. I wouldn't worry about the dealer finding out though. A tuned PCM can get you I'd say 40+ HP on 93 octane, with 87-89 you could prolly get 25-30.

FWIW, I have an HPTuners and when i lost the 4L60 in my 06 V6 silverado( 7 Kmiles!!) they didnt even reflash the computer, which wouldnt have mattered to me anyways, i would have just put it back in. They cannot find out that you have a tune. Their factory programmer doesnt tell them whether its different or not, and therefore not let them see that you added 5 degrees of timing in the .72 g/cyl @ 4000rpm cell or anything like that. All ya gotta do is just deny, deny, deny and say 'reprogram what?' hahha

You can also pay extra and keep your stock PCM. Change it anytime you taking the truck in...them put the performance one back in later.

 

(I went with a Wheatley Tune and paid extra to keep the core)
