sierra model name

hey all im new to this forum and basically new to the domestic market

i just purchased an orange red 2001 sierra ext cab stepside with the z71 package, ive been looking at suspension upgrades to lower it about 4/5 inches but all the products ive seen are for a specific model, im not entirely sure what model my truck falls under, i read something about a c3 sierra but i dont have leather interior or round fog lights. if any one can help me figure this out, please let me know. if you need more information ill be happy to post it.

any recomdations on a suspnsion kit???

You purchased what is known as the GMT-800 series pickup. Which is how GM labels your truck.

Extended Cab, Sportside Z-71 4x4 best describes your truck, with the language spoken on here.

You do not have a C3 truck; which is GMC's version of a Denali in a pickup.

 

If you really wanted to drop a pickup, you probably should have bought a 2-wheel drive. MUCH easier to accomplish.

 

I was raised "old-school." 4x4 trucks got a lift; 2-wheel drives were "dropped"

about the suspension, im not looking to have a truck that is dropped to the floor, i want a lower ride height that would look like a reg non 4x4 truck, i will hardly ever use the 4x4 capabilities of my truck, im looking to put 20' silverado ss rims on it and i dont need the extra height that came with the z71 package, but besides that thanks for the info on the model name, any help with the suspension will be greatly appreciated

For regular 2 wheel drive ride height a 2" or so drop would do.
