Tire Pressure Monitor and Tire Rotating

Ok...so I have the TPM system in my 04' Hoe. Yesterday when it was -22-degrees F my "Check tire pressure" DIC comes on and the warning on the IPC come on. I check and yep a few are low. I check / increase my tire pressure to the placard level of 35 PSI. Message goes off all is well.

Since the DIC or TPM does NOT tell you which tire why in the world must you teach the PDM and BCM where the sensor location is when rotating tires....Does it really matter ?

So if I want to rotate my own tires, I don't have to go through this big lengthy horn chirp increase pressure to tell the PDM where the sensor is now located...

Can't I just rotate my tires ....if one or more goes low...all it will do is say "Check tire pressure" and display the warning light ...

What do the techs do when a customer wants a tire-rote...activate each sensor just rotate the tires and check the pressure...??

i believe after you rotate tires , you let out enought air in each tire until the warning light goes on, then you refill each tire to proper pressure. This sets the computer so it knows where each sensor is. Don t forget, the system knows where each tire is located. Thats why you have to go thriugh this procudure.
