what is this line to the tranny?

I'm kind of new to this truck, only use it in the snow. 92 K1500 manual tranny. Was looking for an exaust leak and while under there I see this line, looks like a brake line going into a black plug that goes into the tranny. The line is so rusted it looks like it's gonna go any time now. It goes up behind the engine and then i can't see it anymore. Was wondering if somebody can tell me what it is?

There are 2 lines that come from the tranny if it is a automatic. these lines go to the radaitor for cooling purposses. Hope this helps.

If it's a manual it shouldn't have any lines going to the transmission, as manual transmissions do not need oil coolers or even have oil pumps inside them. However, if you have a hydraulic clutch, it may be your hydraulic clutch line, which will probably be rusty anyway. Even if you replaced it now it would probably be rusty again within a month.

Can you get us any pictures of the line you're talking about? That would really make it easier.

Somebody identified a picture on another site as the clutch line. This thing is really rusted to the point the nut on the end is coming apart when you touch it so I guess I have to look into getting it replaced asap.
