I have a 2000 2500 with the 6.0 engine, does anyone one haw many amps the alternator puts out?

I don'tknow,butI'm betting 105 Amps.

Fortunately for you there is a tag right on the alternator that will tell you, so you don't have to rely on my guess.

105 amp is standard, 130 amp is heavy duty. Look on the alternator it should be printed there what the rating is.

to elaborate, 130 amps if you have the plow prep package, all the rest are 105...

Do a search on eBay for 'alternator'. Alterstart sells them there for all kinds of application. There will be an email address for questions and even a toll-free number given.

Just added an additonal unit to my 02 duramax and can't speak to your application. The mech part of the install was easy but foolin' around w/the ECM was scary. ~ odoh

You might give http://www.wranglernw.com/ a look. I bought their 250A (325Asurge) Alternator package along with their Dual battery setup for my 02 2500HD 8.1L and it has probibly been the most professional upgrade kit that I have purchased for the 2500HD. All of the wires came precut and pre-terminated for a perfect factory looking fit. The cables are all 0-Gauge and don't have any problem handling the juice.

I've given the system a pretty decent work out since I installed it and haven't had a single problem.
