Ignition Question

I'm still getting used to my truck ( '05 2500HD ) back with my F150 I always turned the key back and listened to music, well on this truck it doesn't turn back, but forward, then the accessories turn on, I noticed when the accessories are on, so is the red battery light in the cluster, and when I turn the key off it plays but does not display the red bat light, am I wasting battery life leaving accessories on? I usually do this washing my trucks or vaccuming and cleaning inside and all, and the doors are always open, and battery energy is everything to me  especially seeing a much smaller battery in this truck compared to my '01 F150. Anyways my question is, is leaving the key on the accessories setting with the radio on killing the battery? thanks.

I'm not sure about your truck specifically, but with GM vehicles in general, if you can't turn it backwards into an accessory mode, you should be able to put it into accessory mode in between off and start. I could be wrong, I didn't look in my truck but I know that my 04 Alero is like that... Hope this helps,

Jon
