OK so I got in the DJM Pinion shims yesterday. I feel like a real dumbass.. BUT how the hell do you install them? pics would help.

They did not come with any instructions..:flag::D:ughdance:

Between the axle and spring pack. Unbolt the big u-bolts, insert shim, one way will increase the pinion angle and the other will lessen, go with the lessening. Along with properly supporting vechicle and all other safety disclaimers.

Im assuming that these are the shims that go on the leaf springs?

Hell I dunno. I guess so.. There are no instructioins so I am not sure where they go..

Thanks.. I am thinking that the thinner part facing the front of the truck will increase the angle.... Right?

This is the kit I have.. SO where does the bolt go??? I know through the shim but through what on the truck? Or does the section of the U bolt go through the shim???

The bolt goes thru the springs and the block. You are just adding the shim to the top of the spring, increasing/decreasing the axle angle. Thc bolt lines everything up and holds the springs together and bolts hold the springs to the axle.

Make sure you put a clamp around the springs before you remove the bolt.

So when I lowered the truck in the rear 2" I already lessened the angle right? So now I should increase it or am I thinking ass backwards?

Thanks for the help and the tip on the clamp. Can I do one side at a time or do them togther?

also I lowered the rear 2" (crew cab) by doing that I decreased the angle (compaired to stock) right? so now the shaft is from the ground to it is higher now than what it was correct?

So that means the smaller end of the shim needs to face the front of the truck so it tilts the axle forward right?

NO, that is incorrect. the "fat" part of the shim should face the front of the truck if you are lowered. I have these shims on my truck and it fixed my slight pinion angle issue when i did my 2-2 drop. works perfect.

Thanks....

Yep I left the front stocl and lowered the rear 2" with the DJM Shackles..

the shim will go between the leaf spring and the axle with the thick end facing the front of the truck. the bolt they sent with it may not need to be used, they sent it so if the stock one wasn't long enough to go through the shim into the axle plate then you would have one but my stock one was long enough to work. i put my truck back to 2" from the 4" i had the rear at and at 2" drop i did not need the shim. do you have a vibration or something? if not i would leave it be. really strange how some trucks need shims and some don't. lol, jd

HELP.. I have a 07 classic.. The spring is on top of the axle. and it seems that it is attached to it.. Will it come loose or what? I have the u bolts off on both sides right now.. I tried to lower the axle with jack stands on the frame but the spring just pulls down with the axle..

The shim has to ge between the top of the axle and the bottom of the spring right..
