I have been challenged

Not sure if this will ever take place, but a Ford owner has challenged me to a race. His buddy has a '00 F350 CC PSD 4x4 and says he can beat my Z71 andhas beaten other Silverados. I had to doubt him, so of course a competitive attitude has arised. Anyone have any reason why I shouldn't totally embarrass this kid? He is a few years younger than me, s I don't like to pick on people like that too much, hehe . What do you all think of my situation?

If that PSD is stock,he won't catch you until you hit the fuel cutoff.

Go kick this guy and his pile of junk ford's azz. Sounds like your in the same suitation has me i have some guys on a snowmobile website that want to race me and it looks like we will be racing in october on the grass at a local grass drag event. I think i can take the guys i hope i can cause i will never hear the end of it.

I think you can probably take him, but I'd make sure he is stock first. A modified PSD just might suprise ya....

I'm not familiar with F*rd products, but if the Power Stroke is the turbo diesel, watch out. I raced one of those turbo diesel fords in my Corvette and he was pretty fast...what amazed me was how quickly he was coming off the line, given the weight of his vehicle.

That was before I found my rusty gas tank and faulty ignition module, and I still beat him, so I guess he wasn't THAT fast, but I was still a bit surprised....

What year is your Z71? I have driven two different PSD One was a dually and the other was a 3500 non dually. They are pretty quick for the weight they have. Don't let us down.

I'd say go for it.

If it does happen I'd recommend takin' it to the strip if you can.

I'ts a little bit risky doin it on a public road.

I forgot one other thing. If the PSD has a manual transmission, he will be at a bigger disadvantage. The turbo diesels need to build boost to get a good take-off, and you have to put a load on the engine to do that (by powerbraking on an auto). He will also lose his boost at every shift. Shouldn't be much of a contest if it is a 6-speed.

You can take em. I have driven a couple of PSD and I was not really impressed. Don't get me wrong they are not slugs. After looking at the mods you have done to your truck, I think we will have an Elvis sighting befor a stock PSD beats your truck
