0-60mph Times

I took my stop watch with me today and did a couple of runs from a dead dig, a little brake torque at 2000 rpms, two seperate runs, 8.01 seconds and one in tow haul mode 8.06. This is an 05 ccsb with 4.10 gears 285 tires, westers duel tune 87/91 with the 8.1 w/5 spd allison. Just curious on any other times, I was going to run a 0-100 time but ran out of road, my 0-90 time was around 18.7 seconds.

8 seconds 0 to 60 for a 8.1L sounds pretty good. I had a couple of 8.1L Suburbans with air intake, programmer, and Magnaflow muffler, and I guessed I was around 8 seconds, but I never clocked either one.

I tested my 0-60 times a while back and had about the same results as you, each time with wheel spin for about 40 feet on an open diff. Used a g-tech meter to test several times and truck was very consistent considering how far it spun

My 1999 2500 4X4 EX cab long bed shows 6.4 seconds on G-tech but I have done many mods to the engine, AFR heads, comp cam, headers, electic fans, hypertech programmer.

The quickest 0-60 my 8.1/Allison truck ever produced wasn't timed but I did smoke a Subaru WRX making a boosted clutch dumping launch out of the hole. He had been messing with me for a little while so I knew what was up. Just to give the guy a lesson I put the truck into 4LOW and when he started burning out at the green light I just stood on it in overdrive. He went from a length out and pulling to three lengths behind in the blink of an eye. The truck woundn't go past 4th gear and about 60 MPH where it rode a rev limiter. The look on the kids face was worth the risk. That was about 8 months ago and never have seen a problem because of it.

My tune seems to be acting up, I get my new one today, I will post results acfter the new tune in in place.

my 05 crew 4x4 dura max shows 6.6 sec 0-60 on my edge juice programer, in the 4 position...pretty quick..

I don't really know what mine is, but I smoked one of my buddies 5-speed turbo awd Talon up until about 75 mph. It is pretty funny to get people reactions when they lose to an 8,000lb truck in their ricer...

I put my new tune in. The shifts are better and my 0-60 time dropped by .5 sec, I am down to 7.49, Not bad for just a tune, and 285 tires.
