Tuned Pcms For Nbs Gmc 6.0 Vmax

I have been in e-mail contact with both Charlie @ Wheatleys and Jesse @ Wait4me, both tell me they cannot tune the PCMs for the NBS GMs yet (not my 6.0 anyway).

Does anyone know anything more about this? Why? When? Any info would be nice. I am speculating it has to do with AFM, but not sure?

Thanks!

Once a new model is released and in the case of the GMT900 10/06 and some engine family's later, as it takes many hours of dyno time along with actual driving test vehicles after the tuners get test vehicles from owners. You need Patience with the tuners getting reliable data. Usually it takes about 6-8 months for new tunes to be available.

Thanks for the info. Let me add that I am not interested in sending in my stock PCM for tuning. I want a tuned PCM and my stock PCM (for use when going in for service or when sending the PCM in for upgrades/changes).

That's exactly where I am at.

Until Westers has the pcm's available I will stick with the Predator handheld.

Wester's Garage is less than an hour away up here otherwise I might try a Wheatley tune.

www.pcmforless.com can tune the new 07 trucks too. He wants $275.

I recently purchased and installed a SuperChips Flashpaq programmer on my 07 NBS with the LH6 5.3L.

I picked up almost 2 mpg using the 91 octane tow program. I tried a tank with 87 octane and got the same mileage and performance with NO spark knock / pinging. Will probably run mid grade 89, to be safe though. This tune has a lot of extra power, and can be felt through all driving conditions.

Also tried the 91 performance tune with 87 octane and there was noticeable pinging, so went back to the 91 octane tow tune and all seems to be fine...

The 87 octane economy tune actually cut my mileage by 1 mpg. There seemed to be no power increase either. Almost like the tune was written for another truck.

The Flashpaq is worth considering for those like myself that don's want to wait for the software to come out for the do it yourselfer. Or to wait for your favorite PCM shop to get the software.

Just talked to Charlie.. he can tune the new trucks just no cores yet.. Told me he has tuned a few live and gotten great results.. Also said they have figured out the 4 second delay which should be great news to VMax owners.. Probably gonna be a bit before cores come out but for you guys who are close I would definitely go see Charlie.

It's probably because no one knows what an NBS is. Maybe you should try telling them you have a GMT900 instead. :dunno:

Well, smartass, my truck is a NBS, since it is an 07 GMT900 (hint: 07 is an overlap year). Now try to find where I ever called my truck a NNBS and then you can open your mouth.
