Im currently running 265/70 BFG all-terrains on my silverado and I adjusted the T-bars and im looking to get some 285s on there. I want something a little more aggressive than the ATs but yet still some what decent on the road. Im looking for a little more aggressive look. When im at school the truck sits for a couple of days so im not worried about wear that much. Anyone have any experience. I like the Nitto terra grapplers but those are a little less meaty than the ATs.

This probably isn't what you want, but I'll give you my thoughts. You might want to consider a road tire with some competant off road characteristics. For example the Michelin LTX M/S. You can still get them in a size that has a lot of sidewall that fills up your wheel well and they will handle and give you the best all around traction money can buy. That's just not something you will get with AT or offroad "agressive" tires. With an AT you'll have sloppy wet and snow traction on pavement and they will wear quickly and rob lots of power and gas milage from you. This is stuff I think you should consider before you plunk a ton of cash down on tires that just look cool.

Thats good advice. All makes sense. I took that into consideration when I thought about what I wanted and I said fck it. I'm 21 and going to college. Might as well learn the hard way. At my age its more about what looks cool rather than practicality. Im not totally disregaurding your points thats why I am considering the Nitto grapplers.

I am considering these. I have seen these in person and they are almost identical to the BF AT but they are "meatier." They treads are further apart then the BF's giving them a more agrressive mud tire look while maintaing a great ride. Great warranty too.

I am also considereing the Toyo's

There are not too many people who are satisfied with the wear of the Nittos.

I'm going to get BFG Long Trail T/A's (less aggressive than A/Ts but better for the road) when I get new wheels. You might also want to look at BFG Rugged Trail T/As, which are about the same as the Long Trails, but it leans more toward the A/T looks than an in-between.

Toyo Open Country M/T... very rugged looking tire, decent wear, semi-decent price, and only mild noise on the highway.

When our stock tires on our 2005 Escalade EXT were at about 1/2 tread, we were facing a bad winter and decided to change to a more aggressive and better tire. It is a really good thing we did that. There were two extremely serious traffic incidents in the interstate last winter that happened to us where I am sure the tires saved our lives by gripping and allowing me to keep control. Now you cannot pry these from my truck!

We got the Load Range C model in LT285 17

These are not the same tire as OE. They are much heavier and grip dry, wet and snow much better than OE Wranglers.

Thanks for all the help guys. Im leanen towards the Nittos or the toyo open m/t. The Toyos look pretty rugged but some of you guys say they arent to bad. I just dont want to be riden down the road and feel like a got a set of super swampers under there thats all.

I've been happy with the traction and grip with my Nitto Terra grapplers, but the treadlife has been short. I managed to get about 35,000 miles from them.

Thats a little low. Not super bad considering its an AT type tire but still on the low side.
