Lt2 & Snow Plow Prep

I was wondering if you can get the snow plow prep on a 2500 HD LT2? According to GMC, you can get it on the SLE2

I don't see where trim level would have any bearing on the snow plow prep pakage - Have you tried building a chevy to see if it lets you add it?

I thought it was avalible on all trim but the SLT for the 07.5 models.

Plow prep. (VYU) can be had on all GAS 3/4- 1 ton models ..................

With diesel......Your stuck with reg. cab only

Sure enough, you can get the plow prep in the WT, LT1,and LT2 but not the LTZ and only with the gas engine. I am not sure the option is worth the 90 bucks all it has is wiring for lights and different front bumper and a skid plate

Can't get it with the "3" package because of the sunroof option that

"overrides" that package. So no VYU....................

Its things like this that are causing GM to loose sales. Ford has no problem putting the plow package on a CC diesel. Why can't GM figure this out?

 

Sorry little rant, just irritates me at some of GM's stupidity

BTW.........Forgot to mention if any of you folks are into snowplowing

My buddy just got a Crew Cab Duramax, and couldn't get the Snow Plow pkg. He has the LT2. Does anyone know why you cant get that on the Duramax?? Kinda dumb on GM's part. He's planning on plowing with it anyway.

With the diesel engine along with the snowplow it exceeds the front axle weight

rating in the x-cab and crew models.....................

On a diesel no. On the gas motors you get the 4800lb Torsion bars.

I was told that GM will finally have a front end capable of handling the weight of a plow and diesel engine in 2010. GM has stated that the plowing customers only make up a small percentage of people who purchase trucks. So there has been no rush to change the front end. Every commercial you see on television is of a GM truck being used on a ranch in Texas. No plows needed there. I also heard that GM is looking to fill the gap between a 3500hd and a kodiak. Again, this is supposed to be in 2010. I guessonly time will tell.
