Did you take the tires off? I'm not sure why it didn't come apart. I just took the tires off, jack stands on the frame, unbolt u bolts, lowered the axle. Does your truck have a rear sway bar? Sometimes the rear leafs will flex due to the rear shackle, maybe you haven't lowered the axle enough? There is a pin that lines the axle with the leaf, maybe it's in a bind? Hopefully someone will chime in here. Good luck, Chris

The rear leafs can flex a good amount before getting to a point of bottoming out. At least 4-6 inches, the bumpstops and the extention of the shocks should give you a good idea of the flex available. You may just not have the jackstands high enough to take the leafs off the axle. Whether or not it's necessary, I don't know, but I took mine off and had no trouble. Chris

Are the tires touching the ground? If you jack it up let it down on the jack stands which are under the frame and the tires still are not touching the ground it should come off.

If you rest the axle on a jack stand, you can always just jack up the spring and place the block, then lower the spring and it will line up just right every time.
