Well I just got back from the dealer my 08 LTZ Arrived this morning .It looked sweet with the 20" wheels on it .I signed and faxed in the paper work For GM to Buy Back my 07 . Now I was very upset to here from the Dealer that since its a buy back deal I can not Qualify for the 0% financing or any other incentives being offered by GM . So I guess I will be on the phone with GM first thing in morning . I was told buy GM that they were just buying back my old truck and doing a new loan because it is easier and that I would be able to get a better interest rate man am I pissed right now there site says 0% for 60 months on all extended and crew cab silverados when you take delivery by 9/4/07 I will be picking up mine by the end of the week

thats a bunch of crap...I turned in my tahoe 2 years early on my smart buy and I got trade in credit....so I didnt have to pay tax on 24k which was my balloon payment...I also got all the rebates and everything...shop around....I had other dealers tell me I didn't get trade in credit on a lease turn in...well they lost their sale because I did get it from another dealership....I wish I coulda got 0% damnit!

If the buy-back would happen regardless of whether or not you bought a new vehicle from them then I don't see why they shouldn't give you the current offers.

 

Also why should this be any different then trading in a vehicle that still has a lien on it? They would certainly not put the new vehicle on the old loan.

The answer here is quite obvious. They are attempting to make up as much of the loss on this deal as possible. Probably more GM than the dealer. They are hoping you are "thrilled" with the brand new 08 and will concede some extra cost. Keep fighting!!!

well I spoke to GM this morning . At first they said I can not Qualify for the 0% or any other incentives well needless to say I hit the f###in roof .Well after I spoke to 3 other people it was determined by GM that the dealer is wrong . On a Gm buy Back it states that you can not Qualify for any incentives however the 0% is not a incentive it is an offer and I am eligible for offers so they called the dealer to explain it to them . They also set the closing for the exchange of the trucks on tuesday . My dealer called me this afternoon laughing saying great job

I thought the 0% was for all 07's not 08's.

I thought the 0% was for all 07's not 08's.

 

its for all extended and crew cabs 1/2 tons as long as you take delivery by 9/14

With customer service like this, no wonder GM is losing to Toyota.

 

 

Yeah they are getting him in a brand new truck and also gave it to him at 0%, how freakin dare they actually stand behind their product! :D Maybe they should take a que from toyota like all the people with replaced engines and tranny's and stick them with a reworked truck before they have even made one payment! :wtf:

Well, thats cool that they're taking care of it. I just wish you didn't always have to escalate the issue to make them do the right thing. But it really depends on which dealer ya go to as well. Some just want to do the bare minimum, others seem to go out of their way to make you happy.

 

I just have no idea how the crappy dealers stay in business with horrible sales/service.

well I received a phone call from the dealer today . They explained to me that they just got their incentives / offer program sheet from GM today and that the 0% offer was ended on 7/31 instead of the 9/04 date as stated on the GM site and was changed to only include the 07 models so I will not be receiving any offers or incentives on my 08. I am so fustrated and pissed off at GM with all the bulls**t on this truck I want to choke someone .So I checked the GM website and they did change the offer BUT it still stats 0% for 60 months on all 1/2 ton silverado extended and crew cabs if you take delivery by 9/04/07. So I once again I called GM and was told by the repurchase lady that that was a different department and she could not help me so I was given 2 numbers to call for help the first number was GMAC that you cant talk to a human unless you have account number so that call was a waste of time . Second number was to GM C.S. after 45 mins on hold I was then disconnected called back 35 mins on hold explained to the nice lady over the phone what I was pissed about and had her bring up the site she read it and agreed with me . She then placed me on hold to find out whitch department to escalate this to . She then came back on to transfer me put me back on hold and transfered me back to the repurchase office that was closed by then . So tomorrow I will be informing the dealer as well as the GM repurchase lady that on tuesday I will be returning my 07 to the dealer and if the the paperwork for the the 2008 says anything besides 0% I will not sign it and will expect every dime that I paid for the truck returned minus the 1350.00 for the milage and that I will just go buy a ford (which I hate the thought of )but I have just had it with all the bulls**t

Sc**w the dealer! If he wont gve you the 0% financing,go to another dealer and get an 07 from someone else,or get the ford and send GM a picture of it!

You need to read the entire post he is getting a 08 which do not have a 0% option, only 07 models which is how it's been for the last 5+ years. Why would gm put incentives on 08's when they need to move 07's now at this time. His dealer is doing more then any other dealer would or any other manufacture for that matter, as buy backs are not a easy process to go through and the dealer bypassed it to get him into something else, they cant give him 0% if it's not offered by gm.
