do 6.5" speakers just bolt right in and wire right up???

In the past I've never been too impressed with the Sony speakers. Especially if ya can find something at about the same price that sounds better. If you can find them on display at a local retail store, you can just listen for yourself and see how they sound.

To see if it'll bolt right in, check out crutchfield. Some require brackets to bolt in without modification. Almost all of them will require a wire harness adapter to convert it from GM to your aftermarket speakers. Pretty sure crutchfield gives you all that stuff when you buy it from them. Other places make ya buy it separate.

Who ever told you good things about Sony Speakers is a moron. Sony Sucks plain and simple, dont get me wrong, I like sony, but in the Car stereo Department, well, they are lacking a little bit to say the least.

Its a waste of money

I have to agree. I put a Sony Xplod system in my Blazer and was highly dissappointed. I got Pioneer in the other truck and love it.

i have had plenty of sony equipment in the past (car stereo) ... and so far .. over 90% of it all failed ... either the speakers .. (which sounded good for a few weeks, then went to crap) .. blowing ... or starting to pop and crackle ... even tho they had a little lower then the recc power spec going to them ... to a cd deck that always skipped and stopped reading disc's ... for no reasion ... replaced it 5 times under warrenty and said forget it .. and went to alpine ...

less you are buying it from wal-mart .. there are plenty of other brands out there for the same price range that last a whole lot better and quite a few that sound better.

honestly i normally end up going with the mid to top line of alpine speakers ... or Morel speakers (if i am custom building a set etc) ...

I just put a set of Blaupunkt front door speakers in my Sierra, because one of the stock speakers went bad. The were a simple bolt in, (actually clipped in) with the extras that www.Crutchfield.com threw in with the speakers. Easy as could be, and sounds good. Could use more base, but sounds good.
