Crazy Texas Weather

So it snowed in April...in deep east Texas...where the temp the day before was 80...

Then a few weeks ago I was able to drive down a street turned into a river. Water was a little above the bottom of the door.

Now we've got 100+ heat, and the a/c's are starting to quit. So hows the weather where you are?

Hot and Humid. Nowhere near where you are though. It is like mid 90s out here. 45% humidity. Humidity is on it's way down. It has been raining almost everyday for like two or three weeks.

I've never seen a year like this so far! It's been hell trying to fly through this stuff all year. I have really learned how to check the weather every few minutes now instead of hours. I think summer just hit us this week though. bad

I agree, last week was bearable, but this week has sucked so far. Add 70%+ humidity on top of the high temps and it becomes the 5th layer of hell.

And I have to walk in all this stuff, but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. American by birth, Texan by the grace of God!

Yep, I hear ya. Had that nice ice storm, then constant rain/sun/flood mix through most of summer... and now (as of the past week), not a drop of rain in sight to wrap up summer with 100+ degree days. Even got to drive through a river (which was previously a highway) over in East Texas last month. Who knows what it'll be like this Fall/Winter!

Either way, at least we have trucks that don't care what conditions we have to drive through.

Agreed. Having a truck sure comes in handy. Where at in east Texas were you?

I hear you, it's been the same way here in Fayetteville (between Austin and Houston). This heat sucks, but I'd take it over freezing weather ANYTIME. We were fishing on the Colorado river during the cold front in April (diehard or just stupid, you decide), that was f***ing miserable.

I hear you, it's been the same way here in Fayetteville (between Austin and Houston). This heat sucks, but I'd take it over freezing weather ANYTIME. We were fishing on the Colorado river during the cold front in April (diehard or just stupid, you decide), that was f***ing miserable.

Man, I would much rather have the cold. I'm from the panhandle, where it at least snows during the winter (on a regular basis, anyway) and boy do I miss it. That and the dry heat. Much easier to work outside back home than it is here. As soon as I step outside here I want to take a shower.

We were over in the Lufkin, attempting to drive to the Huntington area on 7/06/07 for a wedding. We knew it it had been raining pretty hard but didn't think much of it. Turned onto a highway and quickly discovered some rather deep water and no way around it. Just took it nice and slow, no problems!
