Did Gm Cure The White Paint Flaking Issues Yet?

I owned a white 1992 Silverado up until 2001 and during the last 5 years I had it, it had the infamous paint flaking issue. GM never would do anything about it no matter how much we pissed and moaned.

 

Last night, I was riding w/a buddy of mine in his white 2003 Silverado and noticed that the paint on it is starting to flake in areas. In both cases, this seems to occur after about 4-5 years. Also in both cases, the trucks were never garage-kept.

 

Did GM ever solve this issue, or is it just too early to tell if the 04+ white trucks are going to have the same problem? I'd love to get a white truck since they hide scratches so well, but not if I'm going to run into this issue again.
