Stainless long tubes!!!!!!!!! You could sell alot more headers if you made a long tube. Something competetive with Dynatech and Stainlessworks.

A reasonably priced Stainless Steel Bolt on Exhaust system with a nice low grumble, no drone in the cab, and no noticeable change in sound when these new AFM engines switch from V8 to V4 and back!

:):) Completely agreed. When people buy headers, they want maximum performance from them, which isn't something shorties offer. A stainless long tube set to compete with dynatech, and a regular set with ceramic coating, something to compete with Pacesetters...just build them better than pacesetters. Tons of people buy Pacesetter long tubes because their price.

Are you guys making headers for 87-95 TBI trucks?

Sorry it took a bit to get back on here, we have been busy over here

Yes we do offer a set of shorites for that application which if you go online to the JBA website and put in your vehicle info you should get a product listing of what is available.

As far as long tubes go - at the moment we do not have anything in the works for them BUT that does not mean I am not going to take this info and send it on to the higher ups, from what we have found the long tube headers on GM trucks are better suited in higher RPM higher HP applications (like over 400whp) so for the guys running a boosted application or build and all out race truck the long tube headers work well in those situtations - BUT we look at how many people are actually building those kind of trucks compared to a typical street driven with some moderate towing style truck that is more often on the road.

GM did produce a good set of manifolds on many of their application, we have found HP in GM trucks with our shorties and cat back systems installed so there is power to be found on the shortie style headers. Shortie style headers are also smog legal where as the long tube headers are not which is another reason why we have not produced any YET

99% of the time I see a person asking for help with headers, shorties are tossed out of the question very early, people go straight to long tubes... the benefits are much better for a bit extra. Shorties are good for people who want to replace stock exhaust manifolds and live in an emmissions tested county. I have a very good feeling the damand for Long tube headers on these trucks far exceeds the demand for shorties. You could also join sites like www.performancetrucks.net and LS1truck.com and ask them for their opinions. I'd love to see another brand of ceramic coated L/T headers on the market for a good price! It seems Pacesetter is the only option unless you want to spend some big bucks.

It is definately something we have looked into. And I do hear you on living in a county where LT style headers would not be an issue when it comes to smoging the vehicle - unfortunately by Federal Emmessions laws LT headers are not legal for street use - here is why

You are not allowed to remove/relocate any part of the catalyst system on a vehicle (cadleytic converters, o2 sensors) which a long tube desinged headers will either require you remove the cats OR relocate the components further down the exhaust system itself. Because of this you will find some shops will not even touch an install job on a set of long tubes - even in states where smog laws are less strict that say California

Very true brad. Fines on shops (and people to I would imagine) for tampering with them can have some serious fines, into the thousands of dollars I beleive. The shop that installed my Flowmasters had a sign about it, I can only remember the sign mentioning something about tampering with catalytic converters, and $x,xxx dollars :( But that doesn't stop a lot of performance enthusiasts.

I had shorties back in the day. I honestly admit that I will never go back to shorties after running LT's. Ever!

But either way. To truly get a slice of the GM truck market, you have got to make a long tube. Because the vast majority of truck guys will not run a short tube header. Cruise around PT.net for a while. You wont find many guys running them.

Im on PT.Net and i only know one guy with Shorty headers, and i dont think its by choice.

We have smoke shopes that sell bongs, but they dont sell the weed. So you can produce all you have to do is have a not smog legal sign on the web.

Lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggggggggggggggg Tuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuubbbbbbbbeeeeeeeeeeeessssssssssss for the win.

What kind of gains for your shorties with a catback?
