I have been shopping around for about a week for a 07 or 08 Thaoe Z71 2wd for my wife. she is a school teacher and I want something in a well equipped 2LT or 3LT. I have checked in seceral places and at some of my ususal spots where I have purchased fromm in the past but I want the best deal. Here are some examples of what I have encountered this week. Sticker is 42,820 and I can get it tax and all OTD for 40 even. Sounds like a good deal but are there any better ones out there. I live in South East Georgia.

Dude you just posted give it time. If you post they will come. Just chillax.

Do they even make 2wd z71 tahoe's I thought they were all 4wd.

Anyway if the tahoes are like the silverados, the Z71 package is way overrated. All it is for the silvy is shocks and cheap underbody plates. You are really paying for a name and for that you can get some decals and stick that on there and volia you have a Z71 for 1/4 the package price.

The Z71 is mostly wanted by me beacuse of the awesome rims, tires, badass nerf bars and the chrome package, not to mention the fender flares, locking diff, and cool front bumper. It sits as high as the 4x4 and doesnt cost as much. The Z71 package only costs an extra $1700 or so and it is worth it in my opinion since I believe it looks tougher. She never goes offroad and if we need to we can take my Z, which consequently also is a BAMF'er( Big American Master Fourwheeler). But I was wondering what you guys thought of the deal that I posted, is it decent?

A 2wd Z71 is a great choice, especially if you like the look, but have no use whatsoever for the 4wd (living in Georgia, I doubt you do).

In this day and age, just about any dealer will give the same deal within a couple of bucks. You just need to find out what the invoice is (build the same vehicle on KBB.com, or Edmunds.com) and pay no more than that, THEN subtract rebates.

Right now, if you get an '07, there's a $2000 cash rebate. AND, if you can find one that was built before 2/15/07 (i.e. it's just been there a while), there's $3000 in bonus cash for being overaged stock. For an '08, it's a $1000 cash rebate alone.

You can also do searches, if you haven't already, on GMBuypower, and request quotes:

BJD3, I am not getting huffy. Just laying the facts out. I am serious, no hostility, I just want the truth on the deal. I cant seem to get any feedback on that. I dont want a regular tahoe beacause the factory wheels(other than the 20's) are hideous on the chevy's. The 20's are cool but my wife would curb kill those rims and i would be pissed. So for ease of that aspect alone is worth alot. In case you havent checked all of the 'Hoes are expensive so its not that bad at 40K to me anyway. My truck stickered at $38 and i paid $33,500 OTD for it and got a good deal I think, back in March.

thanks caddy, I checked it and am bulding the hoe as we speak, thanks again.

Good, that should give you the best idea. Of course, in terms of invoice, the real dealer invoice will usually still be a few hundred over what most of the online calculators give, because of advertisement fees.

But, if it's an '07, a lot of dealers will just sell them under invoice in the first place, so not a biggie. And with an '08, they're not THAT hot of a seller, so most will sell right at invoice or a touch above already too.

If you could by chance find an earlier build '07 that just happened to be sitting there for a while, that could be the biggest deal, with the extra $3000 in cash bonus, but that can be hard to find, depending on model.

Is Chevy.com showing you can search for the 08's? I have been trying for awhile and the only vehicle for 08 is the impala. I have to agree the 18" wheels look very nice. Only bad thing you have to go LT2 LT3 for the Z71 pkg. Hopefully next spring I will be driving a new 08 2wd LT. Doesnt seem like alot of owners are on message boards.
