Well we are getting a black lab puppy in about 4 wks. We went and seen him tonight he is small but his paws are already good size. Should be fun, now time to build a fence

We got a chocolate lab about a year ago, I have had dogs before but it was my wife's first. She had all these rules about the dog before we got him and once she saw him, the dog could do no wrong. He (Augie) is a great dog, he was the runt but also had huge paws and now is around 80lbs. All the toys we bought him when he was puppy turned out all he wanted was empty 2 liter bottles with rocks in them! Well good luck!

You're a braver man than me. Labs are INSANE puppies.

 

I'd go rescue a couple of 5 year old fat ones from the local no-kill shelter if I had a fenced yard. But I'm too cheap to spend 3-5 thousand on a fence, just to get dogs.
