Flow Matched

Unless a local speed shop can do it, you may have to send them off to a reputable shop like Westers.. Call around. I think the average price to test is about $15-30 an injector.

Where are you located?

I was afraid of that. I am located 40 miles west of Chicago. I call Midwest Hot Rods just down the street but they do not offer this. I did find out I can get a 383 installed in my truck over there.

Can they adjust the flow on injectors or do they just find similar ones out of batch?

The probelm is they can't adjust the flow on injectors they have to match them by comparison and I only have 4 to compare and at $11 each does not seem worth it to take that gamble. I will have buy used matched injectors off ebay.

Correct, they have to pull from a batch you cant adjust the flow per say. You can adjust the pulse and width(Duty cycle) with a programmer. I would buy a good set already flow matched and sell the old ones and recoupe some cash. Or keep them as spares.

What exactly are you planning to do?

I will have to go that route. I want the truck to idle without shaking and have smoother acceleration. The injectors already have 180k so I wanted to change them and might as well do it right. I might increase the PSI to 14.5 and I want to make sure the injectors will handle this..the old ones might not.

Thanks

The problem probably doesn't reside with the injectors only. With that many miles, there are lots of reasons for rough idle. Timing chain slack is a big one along with worn motor mounts and worn gears on the distributor. If I remember right, a 95 is only going to have 2 injectors and having them a bit off from each other isn't going to make a big difference.

I just heard the same from Witchhunter performance that flow matched units will not help on TBI motors. I am glad I did not spend the extra money. I will check my timing chain slack next time I change the distributor. Part of me wants this engine to blow so I can get a higher HP motor. But these TBI's seem to last forever and I like racking up miles.

Thanks,

Justin
