The Superchips’ FLASHPAQ handheld tuner

is a sophisticated but easy to use engine management tool

designed to deliver extraordinary power and torque gains,

unparalleled transmission controls and improved fuel economy.

How it works - Superchips tuners plug directly into your vehicle and read the stock calibration stored in your vehicle. A stock calibration is the set of fuel, spark and transmission settings that the dealer installed in your vehicle at the time of sale. After reading this file and saving it to your Superchips tuner, the hand-held device then downloads the Superchips’ calibration to your vehicle. All engine and vehicle operations work exactly the same, except your engine will now work more efficiently - which equals more power, more torque and better mileage.

Benefits include:

Improved Horsepower and Torque

Easy Installation - No Tools Necessary

Improved Fuel Economy

Optimized Drivability

Diagnostic Trouble Code Reading Capability

Torque management reduction

Ability to recalibrate the speedometer after a gear/tire size change

NOTE: Superchips tuners are designed for use on stock vehicles only (i.e., no engine or transmission modifications). The use of Cold Air Intakes and exhaust systems is allowed for most applications. The TBSS doesn't seem to like the use of a cold air system with the tuning.

I have had one of these for awhile now and have a question.

On the superchips site for the 87 octane tune it says a max gain of 16hp, but when I load the 87 tune, my dash flashes "reduced engine power'. How can they have a power gain when it is reducing engine power?

Seriously are they cheeper now that it's the next day? And for us.

Do they cut out Tourque Management, Rev limit, High speed limit, and really do save gas? On top of checking codes and reseting them?

If so, I'll buy, but only if my first question is a yes! Oh and the second...

They really need to fix the reply notification feature.

fourwheelinfool: This programmer work very well for a handheld. Nothing beats having your vehicle tuned on a dyno. That can allow you to extract every last horsepower available from the tune. Some might not notice the difference or need every last hp so a handheld will be fine.

db: Have you talked to SC about that? I haven't seen that before.

BLKChevy: I'm not firmilar with the Speedchips programmer to compare.

kdogg: $399.99 is the current price. Product info is in the first post

I've put 3 of these on 3 Diesel Ford F250 trucks, 08 Powerstroke and trust me, this programmer woke them Diesel trucks up!

I have not seen these on a Gas Pickup yet, I've been trying to convince myself to get one, but compared to Diablo, I like the Superchips much more than Diablo for Diesel. Superchips update there software more often than Diablo for starters!
