Few 1500 Questions

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, new here just had a few questions about the 08 silverado.

My first question is, does the LS model come with the nice interior? Not the wood trim interior, but the one the LT has. The website makes no sense, it has the LS as higher priced then the LT so i cant figure it out.

Also, how much should i be paying at a dealership for an msrp of 28-29000?

I am looking at the standard box extended cab 1500. I added power windows and door locks thats really it.

Thanks.

I believe the upgrade interior you are after (fuzzy seats, storage under the center, etc.) comes standard in the 1LT package and above. I don't know if it is an option on the LS. Anybody? Keyless entry, power locks, power windows, cruise control, are all standard on the LS, 1LT, 2LT, LTZ models.

Here is a site that can provide you with invoice pricing. KELLY BLUE BOOK

Hello Mr Moderator?

Parhaps you could move this post... I think our new member didn't realize his error in placement.

is what I priced with the GMS discount, depends on your negotiation skills, if you try usaautosales.com, they may get you for a cheaper rate, I did the LTZ, because price difference, for the LT1:

Vehicle: 2008 Silverado 1500

Selected Style: Extended Cab Standard Box 2WD Ext. Cab Standard Box LT1

Exterior: Dark Blue Metallic

Interior: Light Cashmere/ Ebony Select Cloth

Total MSRP:* $27,335.00

MSRP: $27,335.00

Color & Options: $0.00

Supplier Price:*** $25,541.25

Current Offers: -$1,500.00

I'd shoot for $25,000-$28,000 to see if they would be willing to play ball, get a couple of different quotes, and see who comes out winning, and depending on your negotiation skills, try to work them for more (easier said than done, but it is worth it)

The LS is no longer a model on the extended cabs, but an optional appearance package (RPO Code PCX) on the WT trucks.

The LS package includes a chrome front bumper, chrome grille and chrome steel wheels,It does not include power windows, locks, keyless entry or cruise control (They are available as options however)

This is why the LS packaged truck was higher priced than the LT,Because by the time you took a WT truck and added the LS package then added the power windows, locks & mirrors you put the price of it over what a 1LT truck would cost.

If you want the nicer interior and power windows, locks & mirrors your better off cost wise getting a 1LT.

thanks for all the responses, i went to chevy site again and built an LT1, all i added was the aluminum wheels. Is the active fuel motor worth the extra 600?

The base of the truck is a silver extended cab 4 wheel drive.

It came out to 30,685 without the active management motor.

Would it be possible for a dealer to sell that to me for 28.000 or less or its very unlikely? My friend said he would come with me, hes quite the negotiator. Got a crew cab ram 1500 new for 24,000

By the way, is the sierra cheaper or more expensive?

We're debating that issue right now on another thread.....WHY THE 4.8

....also when I was looking at the same situation, the W/T-LS 4X4 model did not include the electronic transfer case. It gets even more twisted if you a-la-carte the added equipment in the Z-71 package. It just did not make sense to buy the LS with the options I wanted.

As for the added $600 for the 5.3L....If you are trying to justify the option cost in fuel savings, forget about it. The truck wont last long enough for AFM to recover $600 in fuel savings. Buy the 5.3L for the extra umph and you will recoup the $600 on resale.

my next question is, for someone trying to keep it as cheap as possible but be happy with it, is 4x4 worth the extra $3,500 price tag? I didnt really see the point in a truck without 4 wheel drive.

Perfect explanation on both counts Roger.
