4.8 Vs 4.8

If someone could make some sense out of this it would put my mind to ease. My wife has a 03 Chevy silverado ext.cab, short bed 2wd with around 75000 miles on it with the 4.8 in it. My 06 chevy reg cab long bed 4x4 has the 4.8 as well in it and when I was driving her truck the other day I noticed that her truck has a lot more power than mine (almost as if it was the 5.7 or 6.0). The throttle response is better and so is her gas milage. Any suggestions on why this is?

2WD trucks are almost always quicker than 4WD trucks if similarly equipped. Rear end ratios could well be different too. Lots of variables.

Yep,Ones 2wd and the other 4wd,Plus the rear-end ratio's might be different.

dont forget possible programming differences from 03 to 06

5.7L had less horse power than your 06 vortex and i would also have to say that gear ratio and 4x4 has alot to it as well

Drive by cable vs drive by wire.

Drive by wire was in place all the way back to around 99 I think, with the first Gen III motors.
