I know there are many products out there that enhance or 'restore' black plastic exterior trim.

 

Are there any products that protect the new black plastic?

 

All black plastic fades either by UV rays, X-Rays, and Blue Rays. Any product that protects against all this?

I use 303 on anything rubber or plastic. Offers great UV protection. Doesn't give that wet black look but I'm not a fan of that anyhow. Seems to protect VERY well.

I'll second 303 PROTECTANT for protecting/restoring black plastic. It'll work great for the interior on plastic/vinyl, under the hood and for tires. SUMMIT RACING has it in 16 oz, 32 oz and one gallon. That's the best price source I've found.

You might also try PLEDGE...yup, lemon or your favorite scent PLEDGE. It's an old detailers trick.

I like the 303 on plastic but not where it is close to paint, tends to leave drip marks after a rain. It is also great on tires and as a engine bay dress-up. I use Nanowax by Eagle One. I can do my whole truck with the plastic parts in about 20 minutes and it does not leave any white residue.

I use Poorboy's Bold and Bright tire dressing. Unorthodox, but I figured if it works half as well as it does for tires I still win and it does even better than I'd hoped. I don't know about protection, but it cleans well and doesn't leave a streaky, greasy shine like a lot of others. It lasts great too.
