OUMike Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Fellas, I just saw a commercial this morning and then went to website to check it out. New Hummer H3 Alpha with the 5.3. Looks like its gonna be around 40 grand. Anyone in line to order one? I'll be graduated just in time for the one year old models to be floating around.
OUMike Posted November 13, 2007 Author Posted November 13, 2007 More like a glorified Colorado. Yea. except nicer and bigger. So..really..not like a Colorado at all.
s-ten Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 They actually do have some special features designed into them, such as full time 4WD that has a 4HI and 4LOW just like a regular transfer case. You can also get bigger tires and a lower low range then in any of the cousins.
Grip72 Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 sweet i heard the army might even start using hummers

The only reason it is full time is that the people buying hummers would use it. Just like 99.9% of the Hummer caps never come off the trailer hitch..

I test drove the H3Alpha a few months back at the dealer, and it just didnt impress me enough to be worth 40k. Didnt seem to have much low end power when compared to a pickup with the same 5.3l. Of course its whatever floats your boat, but its not for me. Although I do like the new '08 H2's with the 6.2l !!!

markhowell79 Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 The H3 frame is the same as colorado. I used to make the frame at Dana when I worked there. There is some slight differences in the frame but it's just a beefed up colorado frame
