I had read on another forum site that some folks had trouble with truckaddons.com I ordered 6-step full length n-fab nerf bars and a heavy duty hitch lock from them and received both items the same week. The hitch lock actually showed up in two days and the nerf bars were there within the week. Everything was well packaged and all went through without any problems. I had to order via the phone because they did not have the hitch lock I wanted listed on their site but they did have it in stock. I also had to make sure I was ordering the correct bars for my particular model Silverado. They were very helpful and I will definitely shop with them again in the future.

I beleive this is a first.

It definitely sounds like it...I just found the thread dating back over five years about all the bad experiences most people have had with this company. I guess I got lucky. I'll think twice about buying from them again considering the law of averages!

Thats what happens when a new forum member posts without reading all of the other threads first!

What is describe happened to you is what we call an anomaly - an oddity or deviation from the norm. You should count yourself lucky that those mouthbreathing hunchbacks at truckaddons.com didn't hose you. Those folks are a bunch of scum that are only out to part you from your money. In this instance, it sounds like their usual slimey tactic: give good service to one or two so they'll brag up their service and then screw fifty other guys until their reputation starts to go south. Then, they'll give good service to a couple more and on goes the lies, fraud and crappy customer service. Thieves, I tell ya, just a bunch of thieves who will get their due one day - hopefully it's bankruptcy and jail time!

By the way, you don't happen to work for them or live in Kentucky do you? That could explain the fantastic customer service. :P

Anyone who thinks truckaddons.com is a reputable firm, simply check out http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9148 as well as the Kentucky Better Business Bureau. Between those two sites, you'll be shocked at how devious and dreadful truckaddons.com can be.

That is part of Truckaddons.com's method of deception and deceit.

Get an account on a forum under an assumed name and tell everyone how great Truckaddonsaremorons.com were when they ordered something from them.

And as you pointed out, most of those who had a good experience are new members with less than 20 posts. The fools must get getting desperate over there...having to go online to spew propoganda about the company. Sad thing is they fail to remember the Kentucky BBB isn't going away and neither is their crappy record of thieving ways.

182 complaints to the BBB over the last 36 months!!! And they're NOT EVEN A MEMBER OF THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. Wonder why?

55 complaints to the BBB over the last 12 months!!!

Educational/General Comments

Auto Repairs

When having your car serviced by any company, the BBB suggests you request a written estimate. The estimate should include a record of the specific repairs you requested or the specific problem or problems with the car. You have the right to get a written estimate for the work which is to be performed and the right to approve any repair work costing more than 10% over the estimated cost. You have a right to inspect all replaced parts, and any auto repair facility must return all replaced parts, upon your request, except those under warranty, trade-in or core parts.

It is improper for a repair shop to recommend repairs which are not necessary or to advise against repairs that may be necessary. The repair bill should list the charges for parts and labor separately. When you pick up your car, you should be given a list of parts used as well as a description of services rendered and their cost.

Here are some things to consider before leaving your vehicle:

* If you want the old parts, specifically ask that they be returned to you and make sure this is noted on your work order.

* Ask if there is a separate charge for providing an estimate especially should you decide not to have the repair done at that shop.

* Ask if the parts to be used in your vehicle are to be new, used, reconditioned, or rebuilt. Make sure this is noted on the work order.

* Find out how long it will take to complete the repairs on your vehicle and note it on the work order.

* Will any repairs not properly performed be corrected at no charge?

* Ask to be notified of any charges other than parts, labor, and taxes before the work is performed and note this on the work order.

* Specify that your car should not be used for anything other than a test drive or delivery to you unless your written authorization is obtained in advance and note this on the work order.

* Also note on the work order to call you for authorization of any other work the mechanic believes is needed BEFORE making the repair.

Cybershopping

To protect yourself while cybershopping, the Better Business Bureau recommends the following tips:

* THINK SECURITY. Your computer is connected through telephone wires to the Internet. Information sent over the Internet can be intercepted. Consider using secure online service providers which encrypt or scramble purchase information and transactions. Secure sites display a lock indicating your personal information is protected. Look for information on the company's privacy and security policy.

* INVESTIGATE BEFORE YOU INVEST. When you shop with a new business on the Internet, check its reliability report with the BBB. Company reliability reports can be found on the Internet at our web site listing businesses in central and eastern Kentucky, www.ky.bbb.org, or the national BBB web site, www.bbb.org. Reliability reports will tell you the length of time in business, the name of the principal officer, its complaint history as well as membership status in the Bureau. Also ask the company for a catalog or brochure to be mailed to you; that way you can take time to study the products and services offered, and make sure you are making a wise investment. Look for the BBBOnLine logo indicating the company is a member of the Better Business Bureau. Click on the logo to confirm the company's membership status.

* USE THE UNIFORM RESOURCE LOCATOR (URL). The URL allows you to check the address of the company's web site and ensures that you are dealing with the right company. Use one of the various sites such as www.BetterWhoIs.com and www.WhoIs.com which provide information about the registrar of the URL.

* STICK TO WHAT YOU KNOW. Make sure that you understand the company's refund and return policies. Make note of the time required to process and ship your order. The product or service offered by a particular web company maybe just what you need, but if you can't return it or if it takes two months to receive, is the offer as good as you originally thought it to be? Always, print out a copy of the confirmation number or any other documentation of the transaction for your records.

* RED FLAGS. Look for information about the company on the web site. This information should include the company's name, address, phone numbers and fax numbers. Often there is a history of the company and information on the principal officers and the various ways to contact the firm. If this information is not available, think twice before doing business.

If you are asked for your bank account/credit card number or social security number in order to conduct a transaction, then a red flag should wave. Con artists who have used every other type of media for fraudulent activity are now turning online to obtain this type of information and then use it to make unauthorized debits to your accounts.

It seems like only new members have had good luck...coincidence?

I don't think it's a coincidence,it's just that some of you gotten hung up on something from waaaaaaaaaaay back and apparently can let it go.Maybe they have just improved.

It's rather peculiar that the ones that are complaining are also the ones that assume that "satisfied customers" are actually truckaddon moles implanted into cyberworld to inflate their reputation.I'm just sayin!!

First of all, I have never dealt with them...never will! But how can you honestly say that maybe that have improved when the BBB says they have had 55 complaints in the last 12 months? I do not see the improvement!

Please, by all means, use your money and purchase from these fools. And when they hose you, we'll hear you screaming for the next ten years too. Some folks just have to learn the hard way...others learn from those who got hosed by these scumbags. Let's face it, they have an active flim-flam system and we've seen their moron employees post on here only to be ran off with their lies and deception. It's not too hard of a reach when you read some fool stating he loved the company, how great they are and he's gonna marry the owners daughter - bull. The company sucks, they're scum and his daugher looks like Dom Deluise in drag!
