Uhh. Umm...

 

I'm looking to remove the speed governor from my 07 silverado (new body), as well as boost the top RPM a little, and I would like to mess with the torque management. Thing is, I don't know how to get any of this done. I've heard of PCM tuners, or something like that, but they seem expensive. I would really like to just take my truck into a shop or a dealer or something and have this done, but I don't know of any place that does it. Do dealerships do this kind of thing, or no? Also, its irrelevant to me but will this void my warranty? Sorry I'm so clueless but hey, gotta start somewhere.

I'm not trying to flame you here but if its irrelevant than why ask? The only sure fire way to get yourself banned from GM dealerships is to call them up tell them what you plan to do and give them your vin number.

 

Other than that if you put all the stock parts/programming back in place before you take it in you probably won't get caught by GM and the warranty should be fine but that's one hell of a hassle.

 

Are you making this some sort of track/race truck, non-street legal?

Not any sort of non-street-legal thing just tryna squeeze a little extra performance out. Its mainly the speed governor thats bothering me. So there's probably not any shops I can go to to just get this done? I'd rather not drop 4-6 hundred dollars on a piece of electronics I'm gonna use once or twice. Oh yea, I was just curious about the warranty.

why is the speed governor bothering you 96mph is pretty fast in a half ton truck.....and any road where you can do that without endangering yourself or someone else...is a race track.....I dont mean to preach here... I had good luck with wait4meperformance.com. all you do is email him your vin and any mods you made and he will tune your stock ECM....or you can get one from him and keep your stock one like I did just incase of warranty work. Ran me about 320 shipped.
