Rear Wheel Bearing Or Brake Problem

This '88 Suburban 1/2 ton is a restoration/rescue project. When I bought it the left rear wheel brake was semi-frozen. The seller said it will loosen up as I drive. Got it home put on new rear brake shoes, cylinders, hardware and resurfaced the drums. The drum on the left side does not go on as easy as the right and is difficult to remove even after driving around. Tried adjusting the adjustor. Same thing.

Test drive I hear a whine while accelerating, not when coasting and it increases frequency with speed. Not a growl. Could it be a bad wheel bearing? Would that cause the axle to "droop"? It is a 10 bolt semi-float axle 28 spline with an open differential. I'm a backyard mechanic with a toolbox and a computer.

Thanks in advance Alex

Update. It was the parking brake cable. Rusted up from sitting so long. My advice to others is "use it or you will replace it".
