Serial Number Help On Older Truck I Purchased

I purchased an old chevy truck, I am having difficulty decoding the serial number ID tag that was located inside the driver door piller. GVW is 4600 pounds, model 3100 half ton, inline 6 cyl, 1bl carb. and 81.5 HP Engine, serial number follows: 5GP L 11757

 

The G could be a 6... we're not entirely sure.

 

What does it all mean? Any help would be very apprecciated...

5 -- Built in Kansas City, MO Factory

GP -- 1949 3100 Series 1/2 ton pickup 116" wheelbase

L -- Production Month of December

11757 -- Production Order Number
