Well, I was directed here from another forum and it looks like a nice place. I am looking at getting a new truck soon (next two weeks), and I thought I would check out what you guys have to say about the new GMC's. I am in school in Rolla, MO right now, but I am moving back to my home state of Colorado after graduation in less than two weeks. I can't wait to play around with a new truck up in the Rocky Mountain Snow (if there is any by then!)

I have narrowed down my search to a '08 All-Terrain Sierra Crew Cab. I want it with black, and am thinking of going with the 6.0L engine, but starting to have second thoughts. Maybe the 5.3L is a little better. Getting 4WD for sure, but I don't want a Nav system now that I've looked into the Garmin/TomTom market. Would save loads of money, it seems like.

I just found out today that I blew a head gasket in my Outback, so I may have to get a truck a little sooner than expected, but we'll see.

Good choice on the new GMC Sierra's. Have your dealer custom order the exact truck you want. If I could do it over again, that's what I would do. You'll have the truck for the next 5-10 years, or more. You'll be glad you got exactly what you wanted.

I would MAKE SURE to get 4.10 gears, definitely 4x4, and locking differential. The rest is personal taste.

Why would you make sure the 4.10? I was looking into the 3.73 myself.

I suppose I could do just fine with the 3.73 gears as long as I could have a 6-speed transmission.
