Dear Nissan Consumer Affairs,

I am writing this letter in regards to an article posted on www.newsweek.com for the December 24th, 2007 issue. This writer of this article mentions Carlos Ghosn, CEO of Nissan-Renault, has hinted of “killing off” the Nissan Titan.

I bought a 2008 Titan in October of 2008 and have enjoyed every minute of it. Originally I was looking at a new Ford F150. A 15 minute test drive in the Titan changed my mind instantly. I receive compliments nearly every day on my truck’s styling, power and ride.

In my opinion Nissan has taken a step in a new direction and in 4 years created the best half ton truck on the market. Yes there have been some issues but that is to be expected of a new product. Instead I suggest additional marketing and continued refinement of the drive train.

I love my Nissan Titan – please do not kill it off!

Respectfully,

As a previous titan owner this is only 1 of the reasons I decided to change out trucks. Began to have some serious issues right before the warranty was going to expire. Bought a new GMC sierra and very happy I did.

On these big Nissan pickups - did they ever sell a regular cab? I have never seen one.

Never made a regular cab Titan. I read somewhere that regular cabs make up a whopping 8% of truck sales now... My bet is that the next generation of GM trucks will not come in this configuration.

Too bad... since it seems to be the truck of choice for the two of us.

If its real he prob meant he bought a 08 titan in oct 07, easy to make that mistake. But knowing Nissan and Toyota, they probably made that up whole thing up.

Just like the politicians did when the took the land from the people in Mississippi to build the Nissan plant. All other chaos makes perfect sense.

They went to a long bed this past year. In my opinion they went the wrong direction. Long beds are for big heavy-duty trucks. Although rumors are that there will be a tie-up with Chrysler and they will drop in a Cummins. Yeah I think someone in Titanland is dreaming again...

Haha, I had to think a little on this one, read the bold closely if you skimmed at first like me.

Yeah I test drove the new F-150. The gear shifter on the column reminds me of a Toyota Carolla. Wonder if they fixed that yet? I've always liked Fords, but they really screwed up and made the door windows tiny. Not sure if they fixed that yet... plus you know there is a Super Duty redesign about to happen. So getting into the old design is always a bad idea. You end up being at the bottom of the scale once the new Super Duty is released. Never a good thing in the world of trucks.

I think the Titan should have downsized to the single cab and short bed option. Nothing against long-beds, but the younger crowd looks for a sporty model. Any marketing guru knows that...

They never made a reg cab Titan which is why I never looked at one . If they stop making reg cabs Im done with pickups. I work and park all over Chicago. I bought a reg cab standard bed because if I cant find parking I cant work and Chicago has a severe parking shortage. Try parking your DC long bed downtown! I dont really need a truck so when they stop making reg cabs I will probably get a Subaru or some other kind of crossover. I never tow more than 1500lbs so theres allkinds of cars that will do the job for me. I hope they dont stop because pickups are the only RWD vehicle I can use and I just love driving them.

Let's say choice for the 3 of us!

Once you get a bigger cab, you never want to drive the small cab. Just the storage room alone is a huge selling point. This is probably why Nissan went after that market. Plus pickups are becoming popular for families. Well some prefer the minivan with racing stripes and the #18 decal. Yeah, your feelin me.
