101k of fun memories, transmission slipping pretty bad, tries to shift into 3rd at 1500, and doesnt go in till 3900, reverse slips, rough shifting, hopefully I get it back soon, but at least I get to drive a 06 GMC 2500HD Allison/Duramax until they find whats wrong with it (Dont you love your parents!!!)

How long are your transmissions holding up?

Trans went because of low factory fill, now running strong (but only have 23K)

How low? You mean you lost the transmission in a new truck because they did not put enough fluid in it and NOBODY checked it before the truck was sold?

it was 'volume filled' and it was low about a quart and a half (teardown revealed this), its cool though. GM stood up for it and got a new trans installed and I made sure that they filled it correctly and then took it in a week later for a complete flush and refill (no liability on me :D)

103,000 on mine.

Fluid was still pink last i checked. I check it frequently. I lost a perfectly good S10 to a bad tranny. Its expensive as hell, and you feel helpless.

Although, i bought this instead of rebuilding the tranny. Good option i think ;)

Are we talking about your personal truck that you purchased new and that you are the only driver?

There are so many variables here.

Used truck. Who knows how the previous owner (s) drove or maintained truck.

Commercial truck. You business truck where all/some the employees drive it.

Family truck. Do you have teenagers driving truck?

Do you 'loan' out your truck for that good friend that is just moving a 'few' things?

Got my truck back, and it seems to be better, the subs and amp are out of it, and i didnt get to drive it in the morning. Anyways, the dealer says that the amp and subs can draw power from the truck, causing the rough shifts, and its too cold out, and below 30% throttle at under a certain temp it will wind out. They say theres a memo or something out on it. Can anyone pull this up?

Leads me to my second issue....while my truck was at the trans shop, the OWNER BACKED MY TRUCK INTO A HILL!!! It tweaked and bent my bumper, ruined my hitch, bent my 7 prong connector almost into the truck, bent my dual exhaust down and pushed it in, and cracked a plastic piece

I hope my frame isnt screwed up, I really dont have the money to buy another truck right now, and still have a loan on it yet. I think they just backed into it like 5 mph or so it couldnt be a huge impact but hte ground was frozen doing a lot of damage.
