Navigation Radio Specs

Well I just recently bought a 08 sierra. I didn't have the cash to splurge for a navi radio. Now that I have extra cash I'm thinking of getting one in. I have searched for hours on the internet and cannot find any specs on it. I wanted to compare it to a garmin nuvi 880.

if anyone has the full specs on it i would appreciate it

Just an option...

I have been a big Garmin fan and didn't want to spring for the extra cost of the factory nav system when my wife and I bought our new trucks about a year ago.

Just recently, I had a Kenwood DNX7100 installed. Double Din unit with a Garmin engine for the nav. Can be found for about $800 new on ebay. iPod integration and bluetooth is also easy with this one. I'd imagine you would pay about the same for a factory unit, and it's my opinion that you get a much better product for the money when going outside of Delphi.

If I'm going for a in-dash unit. I want one that has voice prompts that will actually say the street name, have bluetooth, and be able to get traffic updates. I cannot find the capabilities of the in dash unit anywhere. I Have to take my truck in to the dealer to get its first oil change soon, so I guess ill bother them while im down there

The DNX7100 will do that for you. The bluetooth adapter is extra and not built in, as is the traffic updater. I know it has XM weather/stocks/traffic capabilities if you have XM, and I'm not sure if it can do the FM traffic like my Streetpilot C550.

If you're used to using a Garmin, you will be disappointed with this make shift nav unit. I can't believe how behind technology GM is with these units. No "text to speech" by the way.
