02 Tahoe Z71

Hi All, The family got a great christmas present this year, we just bought a 02 Tahoe Z71 with 50k miles on it. Its a pretty sweet ride - very comfotable and very capable in the snow. I love the locking diff, its the first truck I've had with it. Anyone have any words of wisdom about owning one? Things to be aware of?

congrats!! I had one for a while and had about 100,000 miles before passing it down to my bro. Great SUV and definitely very capable in the snow. The truck is still running very strong. I had 20" on them so it made it handle that much better on street.

If you want to level it, get the front torsion keys and you'll be able to fit larger tires.

My previous vehicle was an '02 Tahoe, non Z71...had it for 3 years. When purchased, it had 69k on it. Traded it in with 100k miles on it for the current Silverado. Wasn't really looking to trade at the time...my dealer made a deal I couldn't refuse. The Tahoe was very capable with BFG AT's on her...loved the snow and didn't mind towing 8k pounds of boat and trailer in the Summer. Enjoy!
