Ok, I just went to the World of Wheels auto show today and I think I found my wheels and tires. Here's the details and pics:

Wheels: American Racing, Dale Earnhardt Jr Signature Series, "Tank" in Black Chrome.

20 x 8.5

Tires: Nitto - Terra Grappler 275/60/20

Deal:

Wheels and tires mounted and lifetime balancing with existing TPM's, valve stems, lug nuts, locks, Complete: $2200

Truxxx 2" front end Level-Lift: $500 includes alignment. (This is necessary to stuff these monsters in).

Less -$750 credit for my stock wheels/tires.

$1950 Out the Door!!! I plan to negotiate in the $120 they want for the Tire Protection Plan. I am sure they will throw that in to get my 2 grand. They also threw in a supply of wheel wax.

Going to the dealer to see them next to my truck tomorrow to make sure the Black Chrome does not clash with my chrome side steps and other chrome stuff. Pretty sure it won't as they had an Escalade with chrome goodies at the show and I rolled it alongside that one to see how it looked. It looked awesome!!

Opinions Please!!!

Really nice rims. Very decent rebate on your stock stuff too. You'd have a hard time selling them for that.

you got good taste vmax. what is black chrome? is it like the "gun metal" color? if you plan on sellign your stock 20"s and tires let me know i might have a buyer lined up for you.

I love the black chrome. My wheels have a similar colored center and it looks good.

I think the price is too high.

$500 to level it is pretty steep. About $350 with alignment is more than fair and they would still be making $$$.

2200 for the tires and wheels sounds like pure retail. Somewhere in the $1800 range for the tires and wheels is about the going rate for 20" chromes with Nittos.

UNLESS you live in an area with no competition... I think I'd hammer them for a better deal.

$1750 out the door sounds about right... With trade.

Just my .02

It's a good lookin wheel, but I thought you wanted a smaller wheel (18's?). I think that tire/wheel combo would look awesome in an 18, but it doesn't matter what I think. :)

It doesn't come in an 18" size. And the main reason I wanted to go to a 18" vs a 20" was to get more rubber. This way I am getting both, but it's requiring me to get the 2" Level-Lift in the front to do so. Oh well, it's only money... :)

egardless of what I think about the price... I think it would look awesome.

They challenged me to find a better price. I will try. I will also beat them up for a better price too if I can. You are right, they had alot of other package prices with 20's and Nitto's in that price range you quoted. These wheels were about $200 more than most others. Supposedly, the Black Chrome is the best plating available. But I take those sales pitch's with a grain of salt (no pun intended).

How does the black chrome look in person? I have been wanting to know what it really looks like.

You have to see it in person, pictures do NOT do it justice. He pulled up his software and showed me these wheels on my truck and if they hadn't had a wheel there to see in person, I would not have been impressed. It's a cool look, not your typical everyday chrome.

That's gonna be one tight squeeze getting those meats under there. I'm guessing you'll end up with the "Reverse Rub" condition. :)

Just out of curiosity, why did you decide on the Truxx kit? I have the Rough Country 2" kit and it was only about $70 and worked perfectly. After my alignment at $99 bucks, I only ended up dropping about $160 total. Save that money for some new slotted rotors or something.

Glad you came to your senses and went with the 20's! :)

Oh, as for the opinion you asked for... Nice Wheels!

My stock tires are 275/55-20 which are 31.9" dia. The Nittos are 275/60-20 and are 33.0" in dia. Only .55" difference in radius/ride height. But I will need the Leveling kit to prevent rubbing, which they guaranteed would not happen. They only offer the Truxxx brand and I have neither the ambition nor the time to do it myself. They also claim the Truxxx lifts are 1/2" higher than other 2" leveling kits. This may be why they can guarantee they won't rub?

I like the idea of a "One Stop" shop, that way if there are any issues, there can be NO finger pointing. Plus it only requires one appt and time spent waiting for it.

I certainly understand that. I have spent many a dollar for convenience when I could have done things myself. I was just trying to help you save a few hundred bucks or so. My 305/50R20's are about 32 inches and they clear, just not by a lot. They did rub in reverse before the leveling kit, hopefully that extra 1/2 inch does the job but doesn't set the front up too high. I'm sure it'll look great. Stop wasting time and get it done!!!
