Kania2k1 Posted August 20, 2001 Posted August 20, 2001 Finally got my grades for my summer courses emailed to me today. I got a C in Calculus 1 and an A- ("I am the smartest man alive"-Billy Madison) in Calc 2. Now it's on to Discrete Probability in the Fall. Has anyone taken this course? My dad says it's hard, and he has a Ph.D in Mathematics. Oops, I crapped my pants
NeXuS1 Posted August 20, 2001 Posted August 20, 2001 i think your screwed. or i would be i'm sticking with basic algebra. (i cant help it that math sucks)
NewbieZ71 Posted August 20, 2001 Posted August 20, 2001 Kania - facing Discrete Math, I assume you are a computer science major....where are you going, U of Albany?
Kania2k1 Posted August 21, 2001 Author Posted August 21, 2001 You got it. Was looking at RPI, but I don't have the money to go there!
NewbieZ71 Posted August 21, 2001 Posted August 21, 2001 I went by there to talk to someone about a couple of classes.....you would have thought I didnt even exist...not the friendliest people in the world.......the course catalog is a maze...you have to read DEEP into it to even find out what subject matter is covered in the class...what happened to naming the course after the content?!?!? If U of A named this site it wouldnt be GM-Trucks.com...it would be called: Study-and-functions-of-transportation-hauling-towing-devices-based-on-the-General-Motors-p erformance-model-and-platform.com Sage and RPI were much more user friendly!
Kania2k1 Posted August 22, 2001 Author Posted August 22, 2001 Man you ain't kiddin' When I was looking into the CSI major, I was checking out a couple of schools. RPI has it set up really nice, but I don't have the spare 80,000 dollars for the degree. UA really pisses me off. It's impossable to make it trough the directory without a masters degree. And the employees over there aren't the friendliest either. Some have been helpful, but the majority are really pissed off, and they don't know anything!
NewbieZ71 Posted August 22, 2001 Posted August 22, 2001 The class I want is at Fulton Montgomery......they were very accomodating. An hour away but accomodating. I can see the UA campus from my office window....oh well.
