Trans Temp Gauge

Has anyone added a factory trans temp gauge to their 06 cluster? Can it be done? I know the diesels and the Escalades/Denalis have this on their clusters, but the 1500s didn't get it. Even with the trailering package!! I also see companies willing to do it for a few hundred dollars, but I'd like to do it myself if the parts and capability is there. Plus, seding my cluster out is not an option at this time. Thanks

The 1500s are already wired for the temp gage. If you get a cluster from a 2500 it is plug and play. The mileage is only kept in the cluster so you would need to get the new cluster programed with correct miles. There are people on e-bay who will sell you a cluster programed with your miles. This is the easiest way. It only takes 15 to 20 minutes to change them out.

People have added the temp gage to their original cluster. A lot of trouble in my opinion.

Have a good one,

Scott, you have several options now to be able to read your trans temp. I researched this very hard and determined the best method was an Interceptor Scan Gauge by Aeroforce. This is a round gauge that reads approx 26 to 28 functions (2 at a time) all from your trucks computer. You mount it on your "A" Pillar and it plugs into your OBD II diagnostic port down by your emergency brake. Also there are some newer models (other brands) out there that read up to 4 functions at a time.

This is a simple plug and play system.

I have some pics of mine but I am not on my PC right now. If you search this forum you will see where they have been posted before, I think as late as yesterday.

Check out the website also.

I have the same model in my YukonXL as well (just not as nice an install as this one).

Definitely recommend it.

Thanks Patrick. I have finally discovered how to post pics but I was using my Wife's laptop and my pics are in mine.

Maybe this will help Scott make up his mind.
