Had the truck 4 days and the fuel pump went out. WTF :) Anyhow I have another issue, when the fuel pump goes out does that lean the AF ratio out? The reason I ask is because we just filled up with E85 and was wondering if there could be bigger problems with the motor coming soon.

yes,the fuel leans out and creates some funny behavior & unsure of 2nd question, but do not think the engine is in harms way cause the pump pooped out ,.lol.

Your not in a race car, If your doing 7,000 rpm and you go lean for a few min that might be an issue. Real world alot of people do alot of lean miles and nothing mechanical happens. Over lean = over hot cylinder, weakest link is usually the head but you would have to be way lean for a long time for it to be an issue. If your looking for reassurance you didn't cause engine dammage I'd say you have a 1 in 10,000 chance anything mechanical is wrong. Your issue is probably with the E85 but if you give 5 word explanations I really can't tell what happened. Start calmly from the beginning.....I bought this truck it is a ... with an ... engine I had X amount of regular fuel and added X amount of E85, X amount of miles later ........ happened? Be detailed there have been a dozen different ways to deal with E85 being introduced and alot of people have issues with getting it right the first fill.

Your computer should have adjusted and compensated for any lean conditions that it could correct. After that, a correction that could not be made to it's fullest would trigger a SES light on the dash. Of all the fuel pumps that have died on the GM trucks, I have not heard of further motor problems connected with them.

Also, welcome aboard! --Mike
