Transmission Problems Need Help

Hello all i am new to the site and i have a question i have a 1998 chevy silverado with 239,000 miles original on a vortec 5.7 litre and it has the 4l60-e transmission now i have heard some rumors that those transmissions are notorious for their sun gears and valve bodies going bad in them i dont know if its true or not but i need some light on the situation please also my truck has this problem of shifting hard into second its not so bad when it warms up but when its cold its very noticible and like i said its not too bad once it warms up you can still notice it but its not as severe i need help trying to figure this one out any help would be greatly appreciated thank you

you have a ton of miles on it,please do not assume you have a problem because the possibilities,a broken sun shell gives you no reverse as I remember,you can take it apart or if you want to keep the truck you can buy a GM rebuild trans that has a 3 yr warrenty,take it to a trans shop to have it road tested and evaluated
