Shoot I wish I never deleted that link in my book marks on how to do it

Theres a green wire under the lower portion of the dash below the steering wheel, all I know.. Someone who knows it will chime in soon :D

Your outta luck on 95? and up!

The chime is generated by the radio and can't be shut off.

You can only program it to be loud or soft !

(drives me nuts too!)

there is a little trick i always use to turn the chime off and it dosnt require any modification.... with the door open use ur finger and push the door latch mechanism on the door closed... thus making the truck think the door is closed when its open so you can have the door open and no ding.. you can remove the key too with the stereo still goin.... Just remember to open the door latch with the handle as you would to open the door before shutting the door again other wise it just bounces open hah!!

Can't you just press and hold the 6 preset button on the radio?

The only drawback is that if you open/close the door, it resets itself.

If you need temporary relief, try it.

I got rid of the door chime when I installed an Alpine CD player and I didn't miss that noise.

I got rid of mine by taking the plastic off the steering column and I cut the wire that is at

the end of the ignition, where the end of the key sits when it is in you should see a little

plastic and spring loaded connection that is tripped when the key is all the way in. It has two wires

coming out of it, I just clipped one and voila that annoying sound is gone. This may be a little more

than what you wanted to get in to but I already had my dash all apart fixing the instrument cluster

anyways. My only complaint is that the security light is now on in the cluster from me having the column

apart. Hope this helps. On a side note if anyone is having there instrument cluster coming on and off

check the plug on the back of it, that is all was wrong with mine not the failure of the stepper motors

as is common on some. Dont waste your time pricing a new wire and plug end for the cluster, good old

GM wanted over $1600.00 so I fixed it myself.

I used to do roll the door latch mechanism down so i can listen to my music with the doors open all of the time... and used to close the door with the latch still in the closed position all of the time!!! I installed an aftermarket radio and had to buy the harness for it which includes a new door chime module. I just removed the chime and now have no problems with listening to my music with the door open and the latch in the normal position!

That is a NICE looking truck! What kind of wheels are those? (sorry about being off-topic)

I have a 2005, all you have to do like the other guy said is flip the latch when the door is open, that's that's all folks.
