Modules On Ebay?

Has anyone tried those modules you see on ebay that attach to your intake temperature sensor, I believe the way they work is they trick the computer in to thinking that your engine is cold causing it to run richer and they claim that you will gain horsepower and better mileage. Any thoughts on these?
