Rds Radio Vin Relearn

This is a class 2 radio so the code method does not work. The only method that I'm aware of is using a Tech 2. The dealer wants 60 bucks for this and it takes about 2 minutes.

 

Does anyone know any other way to relearn the VIN in a factory head unit?

 

Is there anyone in the Southern Indiana area that has the ability to do this? If so, contact me and we can try to work something out.

When I added a GM navigation unit to my 05 Tahoe in December, my local dealers wanted $125 and up to do the relearn. Use your yellow pages, and locate an independent shop that advertises GM repairs. I was able to find a local shop that had the Tech 2. They had never done the relearn, but I took the instructions in, and within 2 minutes it was done. The best part was they didn't charge me anything, saying I had taught them something new! I took them a bunch of goodies on New Years Eve...
