After dumping about $10k into my Sierra (lift, etc.), on a nice Wisconsin evening (blizzard) a van lost control and plowed into the front driver side of my truck. Being as his bumper was much lower than mine, he struck my tire, which ripped off at the axl and (brand new) ball joints. My axl then cut into the body of his truck at a downward angle as his sheel metal was the only thing keeping it off the ground. All said and done, the first estimate said the frame was fine, and could be fixed for around $5k. Then I took it to someone who knew what they were doing, and found the frame WAS bent, and with all the other repairs, it would total around $11k.

They totalled the truck  . I shouldn't have wanted it back with the bent frame, it never gets the same. Feel like I just threw all that money in the toilet. I did take my wheels (well the 3 good ones), and most of the aftermarket stuff off before the towed her away.

I am now the owner of a '04 Suburban. 4 kids weren't fitting well into the pickup. I feel like a soccer mom.

Next years taxes = lift kit! No, I don't learn from my mistakes!

Here's some pics from the axl damage, I'm working on getting the pic of my wreck...

Sorry if my tears stained the pic

The funny thing is, I called my insurance rep and asked about it, and she told me it wasn't an option. The only reason it was totalled was due to the lift. Now I buy insurance straight from the company, middlemen just screw things up.

Man that sucks, there must be something in the air. I've seen more wrecks in the last month than I usually see in a year. Hope everything works out for you.
