'04 Z - Wider Stance Wanted *pic*

The current setup on my '04 Z is Ford keys with about 1.75" crank to level the truck out and 285/75/16 BFG T/A KOs on the factory rims. I've been running these tires for about 50,000 miles and I'm getting close to needing new tires. I love my current setup, but I really want a wider stance. My questions:

-What is the width of the factory rim and will a wider rim give me a wider stance with the same tires I'm running now?

-If I install rear blocks, I assume I'll have to crank the Tbars even more to match (which I really don't want to do)?

-Will 305/70/16s fit on the factory rims? Aftermarket rims?

I'm also debating a 2 or 3" body lift, but I don't know that I want to modify my step bar brackets and modify my exhaust tips to look good.

Well I ran 16x10 with a massive amount of offset on 305/70/R16 Baja Claws and got it to look like this:

Then I needed new tires and put a set of BFG A/T 285/75/R16 on the same rims:

And boy do I miss the 305 width, but I like the 75 height.

heres a pic of my trucks, i have wheel spacers but there very very small they are 5/16" so it sits an extra 5/8" wider.

rims are very offset i couldnt tell ya how much and i have 12.50" wide tires.

with aftermarket rims, you could run the same or wider tires than you already have if you ran a 4.5" backspacing, and stock rims are only about 7 or 7and a half inches, as opposed to say a nine inch rim

If you want a wider stance than get some wheels with a little less backspacing to make them stick out a little more. That will widen your stance. And you can keep the same size tire or go with the 305/70/16 tire.

This is an example. stock truck with 265/75/16 tires and stock rims with 5.5 backspacing

Yeah I think that your rims are at 7" wide cause I know that when I got those caddy rims I fount out that they were a 1/2 inch wider at 7.5"....

Wheel spacers are cool but I woulnt want to max tow anything with those!

Cambo - what backspacing and offset are your rims? Also, how do the claws compare to the BFG TA's?

Boy I couldn't tell you if I wanted to. I have had these for so long. Well I just miss the width and the howl of the claws, but I like the height and the more drivability of the BFG's.

07BlackZ71, I think you nailed what I am looking for.

KRJ, what size are your tires? Looks good.

KRJ Z71 what are the specs on your wheels I think that kinda wheel with a 35" tire would look good on my silverado with no flares
