My truck is running great. I do now want to change any of the power curves. Is it possible to plug the programmer in and just change the speedometer. What programmer should i get to do just that.

Depending on what year/make/model your truck is....And that's all you want to do...A dealership will do that for you for a LOT less than what a handheld programmer will cost.

Im guessing that you changed your wheel/tire size. You just need to take the truck to any GM service center and thell change that for you. It might be around $100 though.

Well its a 2004 chevy 2500 hd 6.0l

It has the stock 245/75 on it and i want to go a tad, not much at all bigger. But i have called 3 dealers in the area and they will not do it. So its up to me to get a programmer.

Depends on how big you want your tires. From what I recall, they CAN'T go over 285/75 on there, their software won't allow it.

You might contact some of your local tuning places and see what they'd charge.

Waitforme and PCMforLess will give you a tune AND a tire change for really reasonable prices too.

So i want to verify i can plug a programmer in and it WILL NOT CHANGE the power curves at all. I just can change the speedometer ratings.

Will my on board gas mileage thing still be accurate...
