I got mine at the local scrap yard for $8 a seat including wiring harness. All you need is a sharp knife and side cutters. Just throwing the idea out there.. I saved myself a ton of money!

So after a year of my wife giving me a hard time about her A$$ being cold everytime we got in my truck, I broke down and bought the kit. I began the install yesterday with the passenger seat. What I thought was going to be the hardest part (installing the pads) actually turned out very easy. The problem I'm having now is the wire routing. With the passenger seat installed, what is the physical location supposed to be for the connector that plugs into the harness that goes over to the driver's seat? I figure if I can start there, I will figure the rest of it out backwards.

Thanks

Just got the heated seat kit wired in today, so far only the green seats are lighting up on the switches, none of the yellow led lights are turning on, the ones that indicate power/heat level, is this simply because i havent had the dealer flash my truck with the programming yet? And once that is done they will turn on? The yellow led lights

I just got this kit installed in my 2012 Sierra SLE, now I need the dealer to program my BCM.

At night (when my running lights are on) the "new" in dash heated seat switches light up with the rest of my dash controls/lights.

I guess that means the kit is wired up correctly? :dunno:

I need some help guys. I recently installed the heated seat kit in my 2012 silverado lt..it's the factory kit I bought directly from GM where the switches are in the dash. I have everything installed and completed except the wiring to the junction. I'm a little confused on my harness that has 2 purple and 2 yellow wires. I found the spot on the block where the cream colored little plug goes that has one green wire in it. I found the loose ground wire on my harness that needs spliced in but was unsure where it gets spliced into. Basically I just need help with all of this wiring and I will be complete. Any pics or instructions would be great. Will my seats work after I have this wiring correctly done or will I have to take to dealer before they will come on?

After you get the wiring figured out, the dealer will have to reprogram your trucks BCM.

Basically, "tell it" it now has heated seats....

thanks for the reply..i called the dealer and they said they were going to charge me $175 to do the wiring and the flash of the BCM..can anybody send me a pic of the wiring or give me the steps on how to do it properly? i cant figure it out from the instructions that came with the kit..too complicated. thanks.

Just give them a copy of those GM instructions.

All of those "Service Proceedure" references are things the GM techs can look-up on their end. That's what make installing some of these GM Accy's co confusing at times.

i think i could handle the wiring part if someone showed me a pic or step by step how to do it..i called GM again and they said they would do the flash for no charge..but if they had to do the wiring and flash it was going to be $175..somebody has to have a pic or something..thanks.

Have you looked through the GM installations instructions I posted? Look especially at Figure 33 on "Sheet 5 of 24" (about the 4th page of posts ionthis thread). The pictures GM supplies are in black and white BUT place close attention to the position of the plugs they are working with and the terminal numbers and the wiring is not difficult. All of the plugs have numbers in or on them that will correspond to the instructions. You may have to remove the "TPA" to see the wire/terminal numbers.

Are the purple/yellow wire harness for the dash switch? Check out "sheet 8 of 24".

If you lay out the harness and follow the directions and eliminate any connectors that the directions are confusing over, it may help.

Hey boys, i Remember reading about how heated seats turn on automatically on remote start when its cold enough when i was researching installing the oem heated seat kit, I have been waiting for them to turn on, today temp got to 1 Degree Celcius (33.8F) and nothing the ice warning even came up (heated seat lights were not on and no key in ignition yet).... I installed the OEM kit along with katzkins on my 2009 Sierra Sle, it has the manual heat controls... When i remote start my blower heat will turn on (if i leave it on before i turn off) but so far I havent seen or felt anything with the Heated seats... so anyone know if this option works if you installed the oem kit afterwards? or are the auto climate controls neccessary for this to work

Thanks,

First post for me. Reinkernation it has to be below 32 degrees Fahrenheit for them to turn on.

The kit instructions blowwww. Me and 2 Honda/Acura master techs found this kit to be little ridiculous. The wire harness is freaking huge. Dealer had no idea how to program BCM and had to call tech line which added the rpo and then re downloaded configuration. Charged me 1 hour ($130)

Took us about 4 hours to do on Sunday.

If you have ?'s please ask since its fresh in my head.

Went into a 2012 crew 1500 with bucket seats
