How do the OEM outside mirror covers come off of 07 Avalanche/Tahoe? Are they taped or snapped on?

 

no tape, all plastic snaps. when i removed my stock flat black ones i broke a tab or two (i didnt really know how to take them off)

I was actually going to ask this same question, I'm going to pick up a set of chrome covers today. Any more info on how best to remove them without causing too much (or any) damage.
