Zembonez Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Hey all. Doing some new rim shopping for a 2008 Chevy Z71. Do I want hub centric or not? Thanks. YES! Hub centric wheels eliminate many vibration issues by centering the wheel to the hub rather than letting the lugs do it by chance. All decent wheel manufacturers offer hub centric rings to make their wheels hub centric for your application.
Big Whiskey Posted April 28, 2008 Author Posted April 28, 2008 Thanks Jim. Fast reply and good info. Let the shopping begin!
Norman Posted April 29, 2008 Posted April 29, 2008 And how do I know whether the rims I'm looking at are hub-centric or not?
Big Whiskey Posted April 29, 2008 Author Posted April 29, 2008 If you're internet shopping, most sites will have a chart or table that lists the size, bolt pattern, offset, backspacing, max load, etc. If you find two wheels that seem to have the same specs. One may have the letters "hc" after the model number, or there may be an asterek (*) by the ones that are hub centric. Plus, you could always call the company to find out for sure. Hope that helps.
